Attention all mushers and race fans,
As many of you may be aware, Lance Mackey was a dear friend to me and provided invaluable support during my battle with breast cancer.
In September of 2022, the world lost a legendary dog musher to cancer.
Apart from his prowess in driving dogs, Lance also had a passion for speed on the car racing circuit.
His son, Atigun, now 7 years old, shares this passion.
One of Lance’s final wishes was for Atigun to pursue his dream by competing on the track.
A close friend of Lance’s, Doug Sheldon, is raising funds to fulfill Atigun’s dream and honor Lance’s wishes.
This young boy and his sister tragically lost both parents at a very young age.
