We started the Great Northern Sled Dog Walk back in 2012 with a sponsored walk over the Humber Bridge in Hull. We raised £2570 for the charity Ruddis Retreat.
The event was televised on the local news and was reported in many of the local papers.
We have since repeated the walk a number of times raising over £1000 again for Ruddis Retreat.
This year we wanted to go back to the Humber Bridge and raise money not for just one charity, but two. Ruddis Retreat and Breast Cancer Care (a charity close to our hearts as Faye was diagnosed with Breast Cancer two years ago and is now in remission)
The walk took place on Saturday 30th December 2017 at the foot of the east side of the bridge and we walked over the bridge and back again with our sled dogs. The walk was approximately 5 miles.
A big thank you to MM DogGear for donating a Walking Belt and Lead, which will be given to the person who raised the most sponsorship money.
Take a look at their website, they have a great range of Belts, Collars, Leads and Harnesses at great value prices.
A Limited Edition walking belt and lead seat is now available to order
A Big thank you to everyone who took part in the 2017 walk. Photos below.
If you would like to take part in the next walk, please contact us and we will let you know the details nearer the time.
