Internationally well known Alaskan artist, Jon Van Zyle has spent over four decades capturing the essence of Alaska’s landscapes, wildlife, people and Sports. His original paintings and reproductions are represented in many galleries in the United States and Europe.
Art is his life and Alaska, all Alaska has been his inspiration. Jon has twice completed the 1049 miles of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race between Anchorage and Nome. Since 1979, Jon has been the race’s official artist and in 2004 was inducted into the Iditarod Hall of Fame.
In 1983 due to the success of the official Iditarod posters, his publishers decided to produce limited edition official Iditarod prints as well.Â
