Tala Husky With Cance Needs Help 003 Northernwolf Sled Dogs

A Siberian Husky, named Tala needs your help.

She has been diagnosed with cancer and urgently needs help.

Her owner, Jillian Clare has set up a GoFundMe page where donations are being taken.

The goal is is raise the £10000 needed for vet bills.

Jillian explains :

This is incredibly hard for me to write and even harder for me to open up, but here goes. If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with my dogs.

They are my everything and it is with a sad heart that I tell you my sweet girl Tala has been diagnosed with cancer.

Tala came into my life six years ago. I saw her sad photo in a husky Facebook group and knew I had to save her. She had been a breeding dog for the first five years of her life and had known no love.

When they were done with her, they dropped her off at the Downey shelter in Southern California.

When I went to visit her for the first time, she was emaciated, had an upper respiratory infection, and had no front teeth.

Her doctor suspects they were either shaved down or she had spent so many years trying to get out of the cage she was in, that she herself wore them down.

After visiting her once, the shelter wouldn’t let me take her because she had not been spayed.

Since this shelter was a high kill shelter, I was incredibly worried that they would put her down when I left.

So I went back – every day until they let me take her home.

After a few months of TLC, she was like a new dog!

I truly felt I had saved her life.

Since then, Tala has been the sweetest, most loving dog in the world.

She loves her carrots and her sister Amelia so much! Tala and her sister both are on Banfield plans, which is a veterinary group that has plans for bi-yearly check ups and yearly dentals.

About two years ago, her doctor noticed she had a high liver level and protein in her urine.

I took Tala to a specialist where they did every test under the sun and they couldn’t find anything wrong with her.

She was a mystery case.

Fast forward to now.

While at her normal check up just over a week ago, her doctor found a large mass in her right anal gland when she went to express them.

Not to mention, that high liver level from before was now in the 1600s (aka not good).

This immediately set off alarms.

I took Tala to a larger clinic for them to perform an ultrasound of both her liver and her anal gland.

While there, they found that she has a large mass in her liver and got a clearer picture of the one in her anal gland.

The doctor at that clinic was not able to get a biopsy of the mass in her liver for fear that she would bleed out.

However, he was able to get a cytology of the mass in her anal gland, and just a few days later, she was officially diagnosed with cancer.

Today, I took Tala to a surgeon to see if surgery was even an option.

After reviewing her case, they said they are able to remove the mass in her anal gland and while she’s under, they would try to get a biopsy of the mass in her liver.

Sounds great, right?

Well, the surgery is going to cost just over $9,000 and then she will need to go through radiation therapy to make sure that mass doesn’t come back.

So while we have a plan in place for the mass in her anal gland, the mass in her liver is still up in the air and I won’t know more until after the first surgery.

I know times are hard.

The world is on fire and everything feels so heavy with the pandemic still happening.

My industry shut down in March and is slowly starting to come back, but work is still very uncertain.

I’m asking for your help because I don’t really know where else to go or what else to do.

I’ve started her on supplements, CBD oil, anything I can find that is good for fighting cancer in dogs.

She’s even getting eggs and chicken for dinner because apparently those are great proteins for her to have and she shouldn’t be eating many carbs as cancer loves them.

I’ve never done a fundraiser before but here I am now.

I’m usually a private person when it comes to my personal life, but I can’t afford to do this on my own and I won’t let her go down without a fight.

She’s such a happy and energetic dog!

You’d never know she was sick if you met her.

I love you all.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
