Scotlands annual sled dog rally at Aviemore will take place on the weekend of 28th and 29th January 2023.
This is a great place to visit for any sled dog lover.
Hundreds of teams compete against each other in the biggest rally of the season.
The weekend involves several timed runs of differing team sizes from anywhere between 1 – 6 dogs of sled dog breeds.
This form of dryland mushing is very popular here in the UK with us having very little snow. However at this time of year it has on occasion been known that musher taking part in this event can get out their sleds instead of their rigs.
Canicross and Bikejor classes also take part.
There is also a mushers market where you can purchase sled dog items and the weekend rounds off with a trophy ceremony.

Hi there. Is this something you can come and spectate at or is it for club and enthusiasts only. I would love to see the action. Thank you,
Yes Isabella. Spectators are welcome at most husky rallies.

Hello I was wondering if there were co ordinates or the location of the start line anywhere online? We are travelling up to view the races this weekend but aren’t sure where to go, any help would be appreciated thanks :)
Look for the Hayfield Car Park (just past Glenmor)

Hello, time does the even start at?
Usually around 8am, but there are other events leading up to the weekend, including mushers market etc.
Howdy, are spectators allowed to take dogs with them?
Gary, by all means take your dog with you. But leave it in the car if you are spectating. Other dogs can be a major distraction for teams of working huskies. Drive a bit further down to walk your dog away from the racing.
Is it on all day?
Juniors start at 8am going all the way through to canicross at 2.40pm
Same again on Sunday with the times of the two runs added together
