Back in April 2023, we welcomed a film crew from DaisyBeck productions into our kennel, along with vet Rohin Aojula, to film for an episode of Channel 5’s The Yorkshire Vet.
Rohin, is the proud owner of his own Siberian Husky, Rupert. Since owning Rupert, Rohin has always been fascinated with working sled dogs and wanted to have the chance to run with a team of huskies.
The production crew spent all day with us, interacting with the huskies in their runs and we explained how and more importantly, why we own huskies.
Luckily the weather, although sunny, was still quite mild for April so we were okay to run the dogs for a short distance.
Faye went through the basics of the dryland rig and explained to Rohin the commands to get the dogs to go where you want them to.
After the “safety” briefing, we let Rohin loose with two of our older (and slower) dogs to get a feel for it. He soon found out that its not as easy as it looks.
We had a great time with Rohin and the film crew.
