The Alpine Creek Excursion Sled Dog Race is 64 miles from Cantwell to the Alpine Creek Lodge at Mile 68 Denali Highway.
The Alpine Creek race although is very short in comparison to the Iditarod or Yukon Quest or even the mid distance races like the Knik 200, it still manages to pull in some of the top mushers in the game.
Winning this years race, was 15 year old, Emily Robinson in 5 hours 4 minutes. (The current record is 5 hours held by Jessie Holmes in 2017).
A great win for the junior musher who also came in first place in the 2022 Junior Iditarod and looks to be the favourite to do it again in 2023.
